Character Sheet - Rosmerta
General
Name: Rosmerta (she won't tell you her last name, so don't bother asking)
Nicknames (and who is likely to use them): Most people would call her Madam Rosmerta, those who knows her calls her Rosie, those in between simply call her Rosmerta. Liam and his friends call her Mertha.
Age: 29 – that's her story and she's sticking to it.
Birthday: February 14, (1951)
Place of Residence (an address in Hogsmeade unless something else has been decided with the mods) In a loft above the Three Broomsticks.

Appearance
Height: 5' 3" (or 164 cm)
Weight: 125 pounds (or 57 kg)
Eyes: Brown
Hair Colour & Style: Reddish blonde, wavy and long most of the time.
Skin tone: Light, burns easily so she tends to stay out of the sun (Tans give you wrinkles anyway, so why bother?)
Build: Small and curvy, and she knows how to flaunt her curves.
Distinguishing Marks: A heart shaped birthmark on the backside of her right thigh, a few scattered freckles on her bum
Dress Style: Rosmerta loves dramatic colours and fabrics – deep reds and burgundies, dark midnight blues – all sewed to show off as much curves as possible without making her look cheap. She favours deep cleavages but can just as easily wear high collared robes if she thinks it suits her purpose. With the war going on, she has been having trouble finding robes to suit her standards, so her robes are no longer as fashionable as they used to be and they keep their colour only because of Rosmerta's skillful charms work.
Things they would always carry with them (optional): Her wand, a mirror – if leaving her pub a bag of make-up and a flask of anti-ageing potion.
Other: Rosmerta is terrified of growing older. She cannot stop nature from making her age, but she can – and does – hide it by using anti-ageing potions she acquires through not so legal means (as some of the ingredients are rare and hence only can be found through the black market and illegal smuggling).

Disabilities/Handicaps: None
Health in general – both mental and physical: Other than her almost manic fear of growing older she is in surprisingly good health although she sometimes suffers side effects from the long time she was put under the Imperius all those years ago.

Personality
First Impression (others have of you): Flirtatious, friendly and warm. Someone who cares, someone you can trust.
General Behaviour: Rosmerta is very flirtatious; she knows she's beautiful and is not afraid to use her looks to get what she wants. She is smart, a business woman from start to finish and knows how to hold on to a secret.
Strengths: Her intelligence and business skills. She is an opportunist, seeing options and solutions where others see problems.
Weaknesses: She is in many things ruled by her passions and her desires, and has never bothered to build up a resistance against things that feel good (which is why she could be put under the Imperitus curse by a mere teenager).
Habits: She sometimes touches her ring finger even though it was many years since she wore the ring that belonged there. Now though she has another ring to play with and does so, when worried or distressed.
Enjoys: Flirting, sex, being admired, being the centre of attention, entertaining
Dislikes: Being ignored, outsmarted, Draco Malfoy, her husband, Miles Bletchley

Family
Spouse/partner (if applicable): Yes, but she wont say whom or even admit to being married.
Parents: Harper and Rosabelle Grant. Both are dead – Harper, of illness at the age of 86, Rosabelle, of grief shortly after. (The way Rosabelle looked in her old age is one of the things that made Rosmerta decide to never allow herself to grow old.)
Sibling(s): Two brothers and one younger sister (all squibs) – Rosie has very little contact with them.
Children: None – but she was pregnant once. She didn’t realise it until her husband had left her, and instead of going to him with the news, she "handled it". She has made sure never to become pregnant again.
Bloodline: Pureblood – but too many marriages within the family (as close as half siblings at times) led to a rampant amount of squibs in the family.
Family History: Rosabelle and Harper were both Grant – first cousins who'd known each other their whole life. Still, when they wanted to marry Harper's side of the family nearly had a heart attack since Rosabelle was Squib.

Rosabelle was not the only Squib in the family, there were quite a few – and Rosabelle's side of the family seemed to have more of them than the other parts of the family. In spite of his family's protests Harper went on to marry Rosabelle. They loved each other deeply, and had four children – all of them Squibs save for Rosmerta.

For Rosmerta her family situation was always a subject of shame and hence she talked very little, if at all, about her family while at Hogwarts. She stayed at Hogwarts for the holidays and rarely wrote home – when someone asked, she made up lies. When she met her husband she told him lies.

They married straight out of Hogwarts, but only a few months after the wedding did Rosmerta make the foolish mistake of telling him the truth about her family. He left so fast she could barely register what had happened, asking her to never talk about him or too him again. In return she demanded the first thing she could think about to stay alive – the result being the Three Broomsticks. Pregnant and heartbroken, Rosmerta turned to business to cope – deciding not to have the baby and to never fall in love. She has never divorced her husband, but never speaks about him or see him either.

Close Friendships: Sanguini (also a lover), Romilda, Liam, Dolohov
Known Enemies: Draco Malfoy, her husband (Rosmerta is good at holding a grudge)
Sexual Preference: Straight, although Rosmerta has and will have sex with women if it suits her purposes or if she feels so inclined at the time (which ususlly only happen if there is a man involved somewhere).
Turn Ons: Attention, light touches, flirtation, being seduced, pleasing men, seducing the innocent (or at least the virgins)
Turn Offs: Bad manners, bad breath or hygiene, fat men, old age
Past Relationships: Her husband, which she won't talk about. Sanguini, who comes and goes but whom she cares for deeply. Numerous young Hogwarts students who's found her bed to be most educational (Among them Anthony Goldstein, Charlie Weasley, Ron Weasley, Terence Higgs, Miles Bletchley.)
What they think about sex and love: Sex is about the one thing that is almost always pleasurable. It's good, fun, and can be very profitable when used right. Love, however, is something Rosmerta had enough of when her husband left. She vowed never to love – she never has (though she does have a soft spot for Sanguini).
Other: Rosmerta collects small things to remember her lovers - or at least her virgin conquests. It's never anything big enough for them to care about giving it, mostly small pins and badges, but nevertheless she knows which one goes with which conquest. By now she has quite a collection of them, but she has no inclination to stop collecting them.

Magical talents: Rosmerta was always rather skilled in charms and magic that involves cooking
Magical weaknesses/aversions (what your character can't or won't do): Divination is nothing she cares for or bothers with, the unforgivables are spells she wouldn't want to come in contact with.
First sign of magic – when and what: Rosie's family always tried to provoke magic in Rosie and her siblings, but it wasn't until her brother tried to have a go at her hair with a pair of scissors when she was five that Rosie showed any talent. The scissors turned to rubber as they touched her hair and her brother's mysteriously turned bald overnight. It took three months before his hair grew back.
Boggart: A mirror showing the world what she really looks like behind the anti-ageing potions (or rather the image she sees, which is far worse than reality)

Monetary Situation: Giving the circumstances, quite fair. There are things that people will always find the means to pay for – food, alcohol and sex are all among those.

Current situation
Affiliations & Organisations: No public ones, as she tends to keep her head down.
Faction this character supports: Rosmerta was loyal to Dumbledore, but she isn't as sure about Minerva and her ideas. Still, keeps her supporting Minerva out of that old loyalty even as she privately prefers Tiberius. Hiding under the role of the impartial bar keeper, she keeps her views private, and she won't hesitate to to tell people off for talking politics in her bar.
Role in the ongoing war: Rosmerta does her best to keep out of the way. She runs her bar the best she can, using the black market when needed and adapting as life changes. She's quite happy with the turn of her establishment into a brothel though, and has no intention of turning it back into a mere bar when the war is over.

* The fact that her mother, brothers and sister are squibs is one (known by her husband and probably by Minerva. Possibly a few others.)
